Puttur / Dubai: The Karnataka Islamic Academy’s Jamia Al Kousar Shareeath College at Kumbra, Puttur, has opened up its Kausariyya program for the academic year 2015 –16 for admission. The objective of the course is to create Islamic scholars who have mastered the sacred principles of change and the refurbishing the education sector. The Course which lasts for eight years would combine academics with physical educaton in an affordable format. This would include SSLC, PUC and post graaduaation in four different languages to suit all concerned -? Arabic, English, Urdu, Kannada, Malayalam languages and include Computer literacy and design. Interestingly for an all round education and to meet career aspirations training would be provided in house for the IAS, KAS along with general knowledge, speech, writing, communication, journalism, such other extra-curricular activities as necessary for the all round development.

The Jamia Al Kousar Shareeath college was established in 1996 in a humble way with mere six students in Kumbra village, Puttur t.q. of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka
However as a minimum qualification for entry into this course the college has set the standard as 5th class pass in a Madarasa and 8th standard pass in regular college apart from passing the entrance exam. They have indicated though that there will be a special preference for the poor and the orphans. The entrance exams will be held on May 2,3 and 9,10 from 10 am to 4 pm at Kumbra. During admission for the entrance test candidates will have to provide address proof and a photograph apart from educational achievement proof.
