Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi’s premier socio-cultural organization KCO Abu Dhabi will be distributing educational scholarships to economically backward pre-university college students on August 21, in a function to be held at Centenary Memorial Hall, St. Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangaluru.
Every year in the month of August, KCO supports deserving and needy students aspiring to continue their education after SSLC and PUC to pursue their career. KCO has partnered with Samanvaya, a NGO which receives applications from these students through various sources and scrutinizes them. Selected students are invited for the disbursement programme and scholarship cheques are distributed directly in the presence of distinguished guests, KCO members and parents of the beneficiaries.
Since 2004, KCO is supporting this cause of education and more than 900 students have benefited through this scheme. This year 87 students have been selected for the scholarship. Fr. Michael Santhumayour, Principal of Milagres College, Mangaluru will be the chief guest of the function.
Other than educational scholarship, KCO financially supports people with critical medical diseases, mass weddings and other social activities through its KCO Trust. Currently KCO is in its 21st year of existence ably lead by its founder president Leo Rodrigues.
