Abu Dhabi: Senior scholar Al Haz M Abdul Hameed Musliyar has been selected for the Tajul Ulama award, which is conferred in memory of the Tajul Ulama by KCF UAE national committee.

Popularly known as Mani Ustad, he has rendered great service in social as well as educational fields. He was born to Abdulla and Asiyamma in Peraje in Bantwal in the year 1945.

After primary education, he studied under Tajul Ulama and many other scholars. As directed by Tajul Ulama, he served as Mudaris in Surinje in Mangaluru. He has also served in Dakshina Kannada and north Kerala.

He is also known for his educational institution ‘Darul Irshad’ which includes Junior Shariyath college, Irshadiyya library, KGN Dawa college, Hipul Kurhan college, computer centre, KGN PU college, KGN Boys school, Badriya Juma Masjid. It is also celebrating its silver jubilee this year.

KCF UAE national committee has also honoured writer S P Hamza Sakhafi with Shaikh Zahid Literary award earlier, said KCF secretary Shaikh Bava Haji in the press release.
