Kannadigas organise condolence meet for Kayyara Rai

Dubai: Non-resident Kannadigas residing in the United Arab Emirates held a condolence meeting for poet, freedom fighter late Kayyara Kinhanna Rai at Fortune Plaza hotel in Al-Qusais in Dubai on August 10.
UAE senior businessman and NMC Health Care vice chairman, CEO Dr B R Shetty inaugurated the meet by lighting the lamp. Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha president Sarvotham Shetty led the condolence meet.

Sharjah Karnataka Sangha ex-president Ganesh Rai spoke about Nadoja Dr Kayyara Kinhanna Rai life and achievements.

UAE Exchange president Sudhir Kumar Shetty shared his memories of school days with the legend. Margadeepa cultural committee president Prabhakar Ambaltere urged all the pro-kannada organisations to make the legend’s dream of adding Kasargod into Karnataka by reviewing the Mahajan report. Vasu Bayaru shared his memories of days spent with the legend during various campaigns

Vinay Kumar one of the organiser of the meet also shared his memories of his childhood days in Kayyar.

The condolence meet ended with offering of final respects to the legend.

The venue was provided by Fortune Group of Hotels chairman Praveen Kumar Shetty and flowers were provided by Sudhakar Tumbe of Kateel Flowers.

UAE association members, bearers were present.
