Indian Cultural Centre bids warm farewell to its President

Doha : Indian Cultural Centre (ICC),Indian Community Benevolent Forum and Indian Business & Professional Network extended a warm farewell to ICC President Tarun Basu  and his wife Anitha Basu on April 12, Saturday evening at the Ashoka Hall here.

Indian Ambassador Sanjeev Arora  and his wife Chaya Arora  graced the occasion as  chief guests. Sanjeev Arora honoured Tarun Basu  on behalf of the organisations by presenting him a memento.  Girish Kumar, Vice President of Indian Cultural Centre, delivered the key-note address.

Tarun Basu has  been part of the Indian Cultural Centre  since 33 years and is also an active social worker. He was instrumental in constructing the Ashoka Hall in ICC premises. He also started a unique concept like ‘Community Fair’ which  is celebrated in November every  year. During the fair  members present a variety of programmes highlighting their culture and traditions.

ICC is the Official Body of Indian expatriates community and is functioning under the patronage of Embassy of India for the purpose of advancement of sports, social and cultural activities of the Indian community in Qatar.
