ICBF launches group insurance scheme for Qatar’s Indian community

Qatar: The ICBF has made a new initiative to support the Indian community by launching a group insurance scheme for members of the Indian community, aimed at protecting the families of the expatriates who are working in Qatar. This Life Insurance Scheme has been launched in association with the Damaan Islamic Insurance Company-Bheema, who will facilitate the cover.

The amount of coverage of the insurance scheme is QAR 100,000 and covers permanent or partial disability up to the maximum covered amount, depending on the percentage of the disability. The premium for the insurance starts at QAR 125 for a two-year term.

ICBF intends to ensure that a maximum number of Indians join the insurance programme.

ICBF has thanked P Kumaran, India’s ambassador to Qatar, Indian Embassy officials, ICBF members and associate organizations for their support in the launch of this scheme.

ICBF President P N Baburajan, Vice President Mahesh Gowda, General Secretary Avinash Gaikwad, Head of Development Juttas Paul, ICBF Managing Committee members Subrahmania Hebbaglu, Santosh Kumar, Nivedita Ketkar, Rajani Moorthy, ICBF Development Sub Committee members Jerry Babu, Abdulrahoof Kondotty and Damaan Islamic Insurance Company – Bheema Chief Operating Officer Hari Krishnan were present.
