Riyadh: Marriage is a complex union between two people, made even more complex not just by the personalities involved but the involvement of the extended families as well.

A man who gave up everything for his new wife, even going so far as to abandon his whole family, found himself being slapped with a divorce suit.

The 29-year-old unidentified man, was dragged to the court by his wife, also unidentified, where she demanded that the court separate the two of them. The young man was understandably confused and stunned by his wife’s desire to be separated from him after all that he had done and sacrificed for her.

When asked why she wanted a divorce, she stated to the judge that she could not trust a man who would do anything for his wife while denying his mother even the smallest favour.

According to the woman, her husband had taken her on foreign tours and bought her expensive gifts, and done everything for her. His dismissal of his family, however, is what she found distasteful, bringing her to the decision to leave her husband.

The husband of course, fought to remain with his wife and the woman agreed to everything that he claimed to have done for her, yet she was adamant that the court separate the two of them.

The woman also argued that her husband could easily leave her for someone else, the same way he abandoned his own family.

To the shock and dismay of the husband, the judge granted the woman’s wish for a divorce.
