Dubai: Andrian Deepak D’Souza, a 23-year-old youth from Kulshekar, living in Al-Quoz, Dubai, allegedly ended life in a camp on July 3 and though the reason behind his extreme step has not yet been ascertained, many say it was financial crunch at the home front that drove the young man towards suicide.

However, after his death, Andrian’s body has been in Dubai for quite some time as his mother, who works as a domestic help in Israel could not come to claim the body due to contractual obligations.

Taking cognisance of the situation, social workers Melwyn Pinto and Shodhan Prasad took the onus on themselves and completed the formalities of FIR, Post Mortem Reports, Police Clearance, Death Certificate, Cancellation of Visa, Cancellation of Passport, Clearance from Sponsor, Death Certificate in English, etc.

Not just that, the Good Samaritans also arranged Visa for a friend named Keerthan Poojary who voluntarily came from Mangalore to take Adrian’s body to Mangaluru for cremation. With the help of one Ramcy Fernandes, the duo has arranged for cremation of the Andrian’s body at Kulshekar Church once the body reaches there. The mortal remains would be flown by Air India Carrier on July 24 so that cremation could take place on July 25.

Shodhan Prasad and Melwyn Pinto have urged the people in general to come forward to help in reaching Adrian’s mortal remains back to his home. While most of the arrangements have been done by the duo, there is a need for over 10,000 dhs for ’embalming’, ‘Coffin Box’, ‘Ambulance’, and ‘Air Ticket’ for Keerthan Poojary and other incidental charges without which the body cannot be flown to Mangaluru.

While urging people to donate generously for the cause, the duo can be contacted at 0525569786 (Shodhan Prasad) and 0562549061 (Melwyn Pinto).
