Dubai: A fun filled and rocking musical extravaganza presented by famous singer and composer Melwyn Antony Dsouza at his debut live musical evening in Dubai, ‘Melwyn live in Concert’, hosted by UAE ‘s famous community based association, Vamanjooreans UAE, enthralled the audience with unlimited fun and joy.
Vamanjooreans UAE is a vibrant association of Vamanjoor parishioners residing in UAE. The aim of the association is to help the underprivileged people primarily in medical and educational field. Once in every two years the association presents entertainment programmes bringing in and introducing some of the famous musicians, singers and humour artistes to enthral the people in UAE. This year too, the organisers had promised to entertain all music lovers with ‘Melwyn Live in Concert’. This would help in promoting the talent of young Melwyn and at the same time it would help fulfil the ultimate aim of the association.
Melwyn Antony Dsouza, one of the popular singers among the Konkani Community residing in U A E is known for his amazing talent of singing, composing and writing lyrics. He is renowned for his ability to mesmerize and sweep the audience off their feet and bring them to the dance floor with his enigmatic singing and swaying numbers. Melwyn has carved a niche for himself in the minds and hearts of music loving people of Mangaluru and during the concert the same legacy continued in Dubai.
Valerian Paul Lobo (V P Lobo), Chairman of T3 Urban developers Pvt Ltd was the guest of honour for the event. The musical evening was inaugurated with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the main sponsors of the event, Gerald Lobo and Roopa Lobo, VP Lobo, Chairman of Reliable Fabricators, James Mendonca, Lawrence Mendonca, Cynthia Govious, Chief of Air India, Melwyn D’Silva and president of Vamanjooreans UAE, Johnson Monteiro. The guests were welcomed and honoured with flowers by the president of Vamanjooreans UAE.
VP Lobo congratulated Melwyn and Vamanjooreans UAE, on behalf of all sponsors and called all youths to utilise their talents for the wellness of the community and self development.
The highlight of the event was famous play back singer Akshada Talaulikar. Her vibrant performance and presentation created magical waves of music on the stage and the crowd supported her with loud applause.
Along with Melwyn and Akshada, Gulf voice of Mangalore winners Joshal and Vincent, Raay Kogul and Rani Kogul title winners Robin and Amabelle joined their vocals and entertained the gathering.
Feat Beat dance group lead by Arun Lobo presented a sensational dance performance with live singing and was appreciated by everyone.
Rib tickling comedy was presented by Kusaal Kalaakar UAE, a team of trained professional actors of Kalaakul Mangaluru.
Tribute to Konkani Music Legends:
Melwyn and his team presented a tribute with a musical performance to all legendary singers, composers and lyricists of Konkani in a unique way which was appreciated by all. The presentation included audio video play, showing the person who served the Konkani musical world with their great service. The special attraction was the host Roshan D’Silva, introducing the old legends along with the new budding music talents. It was done in a beautiful way.
The sensational music to all vocals was presented by Band Charitra. Charitra, the new generation of desi rock band from India has many popular audios and videos tagged to its name. The troop is young, energetic and full of passion towards creativity. Each production by Band Charitra is a masterpiece by itself. Band Charitra lead by Loy Valentine Saldanha along with his team members, Patson, Ian Sachin, Rikith Leonard and musical talents of UAE Prashanth and Hameed rocked the show.
During the same occasion, Dosti a musical album of Melwyn and Loy was released by the guests. The album contains the best composed fresh hits by Melwyn and Loy.
The show was beautifully compared by UAE’s most popular host Roshan D’Silva. His humour and timing kept the crowd entertained and lively. Many spot games were conducted and gifts were distributed.
The heart throbbing sensational sounds were arranged by UAE’s leading event management company Broadway Events. A huge appreciation was given to Joel, the Chief of Broadway events, for playing a role to make the event a success.
Finally at the conclusion, bollywood baila was presented and the whole crowd joined in to put their steps at the dance floor. Roshan Dsilva along with president Johnson Monteiro thanked everyone for making ‘Melwyn live in Concert’ a grand success.

Vamanjooreans U A E is an association of energetic parishioners of Vamanjoor and has been involved in numerous noble works which includes helping the under privileged in the parish as well as community and promoting Konkani language and culture among the Mangaloreans in the UAE.
