Dubai: Residents living in Dubais Discovery Gardens were not able to return to their homes in the early hours of the morning after a water pipeline belonging to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) burst Thursday night behind Ibn Battuta Mall flooding the area.
Husain Al Banna, Director of Traffic at RTAs Traffic and Roads Agency commented on the situation explaining it is believed that only internal roads have been affected. “We are coordinating with Dewa and maximum efforts are being applied to limit the impact on residents,” he said.
“Our emergency team and tankers are working hard to suck the water out. The situation is under control and all roads will be free in short time,” he added.
