Dubai: The Kannada version of Sanskrit mahakavi Basa’s popular drama ‘Swapnavasavadatte’ was launched on the YouTube by guests and artists at Burj Khaleefa residence Tower Theater on May 11 following the successful stageshow of the drama by Dhwani amateur artists in Dubai on January 19.

Businessman Devkumar Kambli and Satish Hindera were the guests of honor for the evening. Prakash Rao Payyar, director of the drama and President of Dhwani Pratishtana welcomed the guests. He expressed his happiness regarding successful and houseful show of the drama and the response it evoked. “The main reason behind the YouTube launch of this great drama is to make it reach millions of Kannadiga’s all over the world,” he added.

Addressing the gathering Kambli appreciated the efforts of Dhwani in upholding the Kannada theater, culture and literature.

Another guest Satish Hindera, a regular at Dhwani dramas lauded Dhwani for its drama selection and presentation. He wished Dhwani to bring more “Great” dramas to Kannada theater of Dubai and whole heartedly praised all the artists for their performance, dedication and ability.

Arathi Adiga spoke about, how different Dhwani’s Drama were from others? The criteria of selection of their stories are ever relevant and yet food for brain. She also highlighted about the points that needed to be improved and implemented.

The program was attended by all the artists and prominent Kannada leaders of the region. Nagabushan Kashyap rendered prayer and began the program. Ashok Anchan gave vote of thanks and Shweta Nadig Sharma compered the program.
