Dubai: The Devadigas Dubai President Mr. Harish Sherigar announced that the Devadigas Dubai, UAE in association with Precious party & Entertainment would celebrate their 23rd anniversary on Friday 30th October 2015 at the Deira Sheraton, Al Muteena Dubai.
He said that it would be a family day celebration that would start from 10am and go on till 5pm. He promised that it would be an exciting day filled with loads of entertainment, fun and frolic followed by a sumptuous lunch.
“We are very glad to have completed 23 years in the Emirates and are one of the oldest community organizations here. Formed in 1992, the main objective was to provide a platform for the active members and create an opportunity to exhibit their talent, build comradeship among the fellow folks who are far away from home & family. It was a platform to unite the community members and to share & nurture the ancient values of culture and traditional values. The aim also was to extend support to the new members who come to the UAE in search of jobs and help them during emergencies”, Sherigar said.
He added, “An Education Fund in the form of a Fixed Deposit was formed for the less fortunate children. Every year under the guidance of Mangalore Sangha more than thousands of financially needy students and achievers availthe opportunity to study in their chosen fields. Each year we contribute to this fund from the donations received from members so as to help more and more students under the umbrella of this Scholarship Fund. Over the years we have distributed more than 75 lakhs Rupeesin the form of scholarships, book distributions, medical help, sponsoring school and professional education to some individual children and building houses for the needy. This process is on and year after year we are more than happy to continue this drive with this unique program”.
He said that in addition, over the years the Devadigas Dubai, have felicitated community members from back home who have excelled in various fields – Ex Union Minister Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Saxophonist Moodbidri Gopalakrishna Devadiga, Neuro Surgeon Dr. K.V. Devadiga, Director of SDM College Dr. Devaraj K, Former Vice Chancellor of Kuvempu University Prof. B.S. Sherigara,to name a few. Mrs. & Mr. Harischandra Devadiga & Mrs. & Mr. Anand Devadiga were chosen from Dubai, to be felicitated being Founder members/Advisors for their service to the community.
The Devadigas Dubai organize annual events, conduct blood donations, cookery competitions, participate in sports events and organize picnics where in all the members assemble and share their company and time to bond and celebrate various occasions.
23rd Anniversary:
Padmashri Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, better known as B R Shetty, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi based New Medical Centre Group of Companies and UAE Exchange would be a Guest of Honour at the 23rd Anniversary celebration. The group was established in 1975 and was initially investing in hospitals and hospitality, but since then it has diversified into sectors including pharmaceuticals, global financial services, retail, advertising and Information technology.
Ex -President of Mumbai Devadiga Sangha, Eminent businessman Mr. Dharmapal U. Devadiga and Rajyotsava Awardee, Eminent Neuro Surgeon Dr. K.V. Devadiga from Mangalore, would be felicitated for their excellence in their respective fields and service to the community.
Mrs. Padmavally Sanjay one the Devadigas Dubai founder members has also been chosen this year to be felicitated during the grand event for her community services and social activities in Dubai.

With sheer passion combined with talent, motivation and attitude, Ms. Sindhu Bhairavi has created a name for herself in the field of music. She is renowned for being the youngest female Saxophonist with a Karnataka state award among a host of other top awards in India. The talented musician from Mangalore has already enthralled large audiences at several venues with the skill of her magical fingers on the saxophone.
Rajyotsava Awardee Ms. Sindhu Bhairavi has performed more than 2000 shows all over the country and abroad. She has got a list of awards to her credit, currently residing in the UA.E. She will be accompanied from India, by her father Machendranath Mangaladevi.
Honoured by Rajyotsava Award, Machendranath Mangaladevi is a native of Puthur, Dakshina Kannada and is currently working as a temple saxophonist at South India’s one of the most historical temple Shree Mangaladevi Temple. He has won wide applause for his programs in and outside the country. He has trained prodigies like his daughter Sindhu Bhairavi who became the youngest saxophonist from South India. His son is also a saxophonist.
Both father and daughter will be felicitated on the occasion.

Melodious medleys by Harish Sherigar& team are expected to enthrall the audiences. They will be supported ably by Vijaya Bhat, Akshata Rao and Suresh Devadiga.
