Dubai: Team members of Fortune Group of Hotels are always encouraged to devote themselves towards the principle of community service and be generous at serving. Organising a blood donation camp was just another step in this direction.

In commemoration of the 51st Wedding anniversary of Sarojini & Narayan Shetty; the proud parents of Praveen Shetty, Chairman – Fortune Group of Hotels, a blood donation camp on May 22, 2016 at Dubai Grand Hotel was organised by Fortune.

About 140 people registered for blood donation, out of which, more than 100 candidates were able to donate blood as the donors went through a series of medical checkups before donating blood.

Welcoming the gathering, Praveen Shetty – Chairman, shared his views and said that everyone should donate blood as it replicates human values and social responsibility towards our society. “Blood can’t be manufactured as other things can, it can only be given to save lives” he stressed. He also thanked and praised the gathering with his motivational speech and said, “Donating blood is a life saving attempt, and you don’t lose anything if you donate blood as human body has a regenerating mechanism.”

Also, present was Roopali Shetty – Managing Director of Fortune Group of Hotels, who said, “All sections of the society should contribute towards the society and save lives. Blood donation is the easiest way to do so. We have one life let us make it more meaningful by donating blood. Blood donation is the mother of all donations. Blood donation directly gives life to another human being. It not only saves one individual but also the entire family of that individual.”

In this blood donation drive, every donor was eagerly waiting for his/her turn to participate in this noble cause. The coordinators as well as the volunteers were very happy to see the enthusiasm infused among the donors.

Praveen Shetty specially applauded Vasanth Shetty – Group Engineer, Bala Krishna M Salian & organising team for organizing this blood donation camp in a well planned manner. He also lauded the motivation of all staff members, General Managers & Corporate Team led by Alok Narula, Group General Manager for their highly enthusiastic contribution in organising this camp and making it a success.

Team of Doctors and nurses who came for blood collection from Sharjah Blood Transfusion & Research Centre, Ministry Of Health was very pleased to see the attendance and thanked the Fortune team for the overwhelming response and gift of life.
