Arthur Pais re-elected as President of MCA Qatar

Doha: Mangalore Cultural Association, a socio-cultural group of Mangaloreans in Qatar, organized its 7th Annual General Body Meeting and formed a  new committee for the year 2015-2017 on friday, April 10th, at the Al-Andalus Hall, Doha.

The program began at 7.30PM with the MCA Theme song. Later MCA President Arthur Pais escorted the advisory committee members Wilfred Fernandes and Felix Lobo along with the vice president Jason Quadros, Secretary Sandeep Noronha and treasurer Clement D’souza to the dais.

President Arthur Pais welomed the gathering. Sandeep Noronha read the annual report with details of the the assocciation’s programs during the past year and highlighted upcoming events. The treasurer Clement Saldanha read the financial report for the year 2014-15.  Both the reports were accepted by members.

Advisory committee members Felix Lobo and Wilfred Fernandes expressed their feelings and highlighted their concerns vis-a-vis the Association. They praised the efforts and the zeal of all the members towards achieving the goals of  the Association and creating recognition within a short span of time.

The new committee for the term 2015-17 was nominated thereafter. MCA past President, Harry Lobo discharged existing management committee from its duty, handing over the baton to the new committee which he announced to much applause.

Arthur Pais was unanimously elected as President, while Aloysius Dsouza was elected as the Vice President. It was announced that Clement Saldanha as Treasurer and Sandeep Noronha as General Secretary will be continuing in their respectively posts. Jovita Pereira was given the post of a Cultural Secretary. Carol Dsouza, Alphonse Dsilva, Clara D’souza and Savious Crasta were added as new committee members.

Later, a fun filled  program was conducted with spot games. All the members enthusiastically participated in games. Winners were awarded with beautiful gifts. The games were coordinated by Jovita Pereira. Aloysius D’souza compered the program. The program concluded with a sumptous dinner.
