Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi chapter of Sahebaan, a premier social group representing Urdu speaking Muslim community from the twin districts of Mangalore and Udupi, hosted a Grand Iftar get-together at India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC), here recently, for community members with their families.
The event was well attended by distinguished guests from Karnataka NRI community from Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates and was fully jam-packed.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, by a visiting Moulana from South Canara.
This was followed by a welcome address by Janab Suhail Kudroli who heads the Sahebaan team of Abu Dhabi. Apart from welcoming guests, he spoke about the current challenges faced by the community both here as well as back home. He called upon the community members to seriously introspect on the achievements made so far and the challenges ahead and alerted the members not to be complacent with what we have achieved but to strive more in the areas of education, empowerment and economic development so that we make overall progress to ensure the community stays ahead.
Abdulla Madumoole, General Secretary, BWF applauded the Sahebaan’s contributions and conveyed his wishes for the season. All the guests and the members had a sumptuous Iftar with meticulous arrangements for prayers etc., which was highly appreciated by one and all.

Yunus Sheikh, Wajid Nauman, Saleem Sheikh, Mohammed Jabir, Sheikh Saleem, Muhammad Qasim, Mohammed Sajid, Mohammed Hanif, Nayeem Baji, Haneef Mohammed and Tajammul made the event a memorable one.
