Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha to celebrate “Kannada Rajyotsava” on Nov 2

Abu Dhabi: The day commemorated as the unity of “Kannadigas”, Kannada Rajyotsava, is celebrated across the world by the proud Kannadigas on November 1st every year. To mark this occasion as a memorable one, the Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha will be celebrating this annual Kannada festival on November 2 at the India Social & Cultural Centre Auditorium, Abu Dhabi frim 10.30 am onwards.

The Chief Guest of the programme will be Indian Ambassador to UAE, H. E. Navdeep Suri. The programme will be presided over by Chief Patron of Kannadigas in UAE Padmashree Dr. B R Shetty who will be honoured with “Karnataka Ratna” award during the celebrations.

The Guest Speaker of the programme will be Prof. Krishnegowda M from Bengaluru who is popularly known for his humorous speech.

Award ceremony
As this day is known for the presentation of State Awards, the Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha will be awarding the UAE Kannadiga students, who have shown tremendous potential and excellence in various fields of 2017-18.

The awarding ceremony is organized in order to encourage, inspire and boost the spirit in the young talents.

Students who have scored above 90 percent in the board exams of 2018, and also who have excelled in sports and represented their institution in India or abroad and thereby earned gold, silver and bronze medals, are requested to register by October 30, to be felicitated in the event.

Also, students, who have recieved the HH Shaikh Hamdan Award, are also said to be eligible to apply for the Rajyotsava felicitation.

The organizers have requested all the participants to attend the programme with ethnic wear to showcase the culture and tradition of the land.

The programme is also said to consist of the cultural extravaganza with group songs and folk dances which will be on display.
