Manama (Bahrain): ‘Sodpad-2016’, the last of the string of ten events organised by Mogaveers’ Bahrain, as part of its tenth anniversary was held with great pomp under the leadership of organisation President Leeladhar Baikampady recently.

The organisation, which has been organising two successful events- ‘Atil’, an exclusive ega culimary fair, ‘Tudar Cup’, the open cricket tourney on the Gulf Soil has showcased its organising skills with ‘Sodpad-2016’.

Sodpad became a competition platform for Tuluva-Kannadigas settled in the oil rich country and five teams staged some of the best performances to enthrall the audience during the span of the event.

From skits, to dance, from songs to fancy dress, from extempore speeches to play, there was something for everyone.

Out of the five teams, ‘Vathsalya’, team led by Chethana Rajendra Hegde won the first place, ‘Bunts’ Bahrain’ team led by Prathima Arun Shetty stood second and ‘JSS Siri Sampada’ team led by Prathima Raj Bedra stood third.

Awards were also given away to ‘Cauvery’ team led by Ummer Saheb and ‘Kalashri’ led by Shekar Bellari.

While three artists bagged ‘Shreshta Prathibha Puraskar’, Shekar Bellari, Shobha Ramprasad and Dalvi Ramprasad from Kalashri team, Mohandas Rai, Prathima Arun Shetty and Shravya Shetty from Bunts Bahrain, Abhijith Shetty, Chethana Rajendra Hegde and Aman Narayan from Vathsalya, Prathima Raj Bedra, Surekha Santhosh and Shivani Bedra from J SS Siri Sampada and Karunakar Padmashali, Poornima Jagdish and Purvaja Jagadish from Cauvery bagged individual awards.

The awards were given away to the winners by dignitaries including Leeladhar Baikampady, who said that Mogaveers’ Bahrain was planning more of such resplendent events in future.

The event was judge by Suresh Pai, Bertrand Rego and Teena D’Souza and was sponsored by 10 generous art patrons. The event was co-ordinated by Rajesh Mendon, suresh Amin, Puneesh Puthran, Chandra Mendon, Padmanabha Kanchan and Lavan Kumar.
