Doha-Qatar: Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), in association with ‘Kalaakul Troupe’ organized two Konkani dramas on Friday April 17, 2015 – 5.30 pm at the Al Ghazal Club as part of its mega annual cultural program.

The program started with a comedy talk from Alexis Castelino, and continued with singing from Alphonse D’silva & Troupe. The much acclaimed Konkani comedy plays – “Platform No. 3” and “Neemane 30 Dees” are written by Arun Raj Rodrigues and directed by Christopher D’Souza of Neenasam. They were performed by Kalaakul artists and mesmerized the audience with laughter.
A small stage program was conducted. Defense Attaché Capt..Ravi Kumar was the Chief Guest of the evening. President Norbert Corda and vice president Prakash Noronha escorted the chief guest along with founder member of the MCC and MD of Space Trading, Jerry D’mello to the stage. Norbert Corda delivered the welcome address and appreciated the sponsors, committee members and volunteers.
Capt. Ravi Kumar appreciated the MCC for its efforts in keeping alive the mother language, Konkani and Konkani culture in Qatar. Meanwhile the Chief Guest released MCC’s annual magazine ‘Sugandh’, in the presence of editorial board members Prabha Rego, Riana Pinto, Sunil Dsilva, Prakash Noronha, Roland Saldanha and other committee members. Later on Kalaakul artists were honored with mementos and Vice president Prakash Noronha proposed the vote of thanks. The stage program was charismatically compered by Riana pinto.
Karnataka Sangha President Deepak Shetty, Tulukoota Qatar President Ravi shetty, Bunts Qatar president Prakash Chandra Ajila, Billava Qatar President Divakar Poojary, Abdul Majeed from SKMWA and KMCA President Niyaz Ahmed were present on the Occasion.
The two Konkani Dramas provided social messages in modern trends, and both the plays were well enjoyed by the audience.
Dynamic M.C Della Rego captured the audience with her unique style of compering.
