Dubai: The much hyped Kannada Film, ‘Asathoma Sadgamaya’ a maiden venture of youth leader Ashwin J. Pereira’s ICARE Movies, had a ticket release function at Winny’s Restaurant, Karama, Dubai on October 5 at 6 pm. The movie is now all set to release across the UAE on November 2, 9 and 16 in many theatres.

For the first time ever, 6 producers joined together on a single dais for this special occasion, along with entrepreneur, philanthropist, actor and singer Joseph Mathias, Editor-in-Chief of Daijiworld, Walter Nandalike, President of KCO-Abu Dhabi, Valerian Dalmaida of News Karnataka and Dublin Group of Companies businessman Andrew Aranha. Producers Harish Sherigar, Maxim Pereira, Harish Bangera, Ronald Martis, Ashwin Pereira and Shodhan Prasad did the honours.

Renowned MC Uttam Menezes welcomed the audience and invited all the guests to the dais. He then gave a brief of the film Asathoma Sadgamaya, and the important message of the movie which is ‘EQ verses IQ’. He said that it is all about family relationships and emotions when the education system in India is concerned, and also connecting the current trend in the educational institutions especially the Government Schools which are fading away. The ‘take for granted’ attitude of our own people has sidelined these institutions for English medium institutions which boast to be the best.

Utham then asked the gathering to observe a moment’s silence and pray for Seema Alvares, wife of actor Stany Alvares who died just a day ago in Mangaluru.

The event was then inaugurated by singing the ‘shanti mantra’ and soon after, the traditional lamp was lit by all the guests on the dais. Actors Pradeep Barboza and Deepak Paladka also joined the guests.

Ashwin later welcomed the guests and audience and briefed them about his journey from student to builder-promoter and about his venture into film making. Stating that his long journey gave him lot of real life experience, he shared some of his experiences in Moodbidri, his hometown, his education and how he got his technical qualification. He then said that this is what inspired him to produce the movie and he is happy that it has a beautiful message for the audience which is relevant in the current situation. Technically, this movie is well made and appreciated wherever released, he said adding that if the movie does well it will inspire him to produce more movies in the future which will entertain his fellow Kannadigas. “There are lot of budding artistes in our Mangalurean circles whom we need to support. I am happy to introduce Pradeep Barboza and Deepak Paladka to Sandalwood for the first time, though they have already acted in Coastalwood movies,” he added.

Different trailers of the film were then played for the audience, who enjoyed them. The film has been directed by debutante Rajesh Venoor. The star cast includes lead actress Radhika Chetan, of ‘Rangeetaranga’ fame who has ten Kannada movies to her credit, and lead actor Kiran Raj, who has also acted in another Kannada film released recently. Lasya Nagaraj and Baby Chitrali, along with Pradeep Barboza and Deepak Paladka, are in the lead roles. Wahab Saleem is the Music Director. Vijaya Prakash and Anuradha Bhat, have lent their vices to the film along with other singers. Nelson Kulshekar and Vikram are the executive producers of the movie. Cinematography is by Kishore and background score is by Manikant Kadri.

Utham then requested Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld to speak about the movie. Walter said that usually does not watch movies in theaters and even if he does, he does not sit for long, often times leaving before the interval. Asathoma Sadgamaya made me sit and watch till the end, mainly because of the suspense. The movie created curiosity. It is a pure combination of technicality, good music, songs and story, he said.

Later, Joseph Mathias, Valerian Dalmaida, Harish Sherigar, Harish Bangera, Maxim Pereira and Ronald Martis spoke and wished Ashwin Pereira success for his film. All the producers then requested the audience to support them so that they are encouraged to provide more pure social entertainment in the future.

Utham then requested the guests to release the movie tickets which was unfolded from the orange draped cloth. The samples of the tickets were held with the pamphlet copies as the tickets were officially opened up. As soon as the tickets were released, people began buying them. Valerian Dalmaida then took all the Abu Dhabi show tickets and said that more than 150 people as of now have already booked for the show out of 300 seats. Utham, leading the Sharjah shows, said that he would see to it that the Sharjah shows would witness houseful shows. Two Dubai shows were also almost fully booked and the producer is planning to have additional shows which will be announced soon.

The movie is all set for release on November 2 in Dubai, November 9 in Sharjah and November 16 in Abu Dhabi.

Mickey Castelino, Ajmal Sayyed, Nithyanand Beskoor, Pramod Kumar, Satish Shetty, Veena Shetty, Santosh Prabhu and Sudharshan Hegde were also some of the well-known leaders of various community associations present during the programme.
