Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate decennial year of NewsKarnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.
One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Womenia, a show that promotes women of impact, entrepreneurs and achievers that is aired on every Thursday.
The guest of the 29th episode aired on Thursday 2nd May was B. Sumangala Rao, Yakshagana Artist. The anchor person for the programme was Ananya Hegde.
The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s YouTube Channel.
B. Sumangala Rao reminisced her character being a child and as a student. Speaking on her Yakshagana journey she expressed, “You have things to learn from every one despite any age barrier”.
Speaking on the difficulties involved in putting on male characters she shared, “Indeed it is quite difficult as I should make share my feminine voice do not come out and at the same time, costumes too are heavy in few male roles”.
Dedication, Passion, Devotion, hardwork are significant aspect for any one being recognised. As an advise to the women audience she said, “Do not miss an opportunity when it knocks door”.
