Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate decennial year of News Karnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.
One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Walk the special path, a show promoting sensitivity, awareness and most importantly, social inclusion, which is aired every Monday.
The Guest of the 18th episode held on Monday March 20 was Rekha Rajesh Shetty, Lawyer. The Anchor Person for the programme was Meena Noronha.
The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s YouTube Channel.
Guest Rekha in her introductory note spoke on ‘What is will’ and said most of the disputes in ancestral property can be reduced because of will and so it is significant for one to write the same.
Shedding light on how a will should be of a family with special children Rekha said, It is suggested to be varied from the normal contents of the will. It is better for the parents to have two guardians to the will as the special child cannot be made the authority. Severity of the child’s disability too has to be mentioned, she put forth.
Clearing the doubts on registration of the bill lawyer said, there is no rule on the same except for the need of signatures from two independent individuals.
As an advice to the audience Rekha Rajesh Shetty said, ‘Act on what you think’ regarding the development of your special child. She also stressed on the significance of making a will.
