Mysore :CM Siddaramaiah and District in charge minister V Srinivasaprasada has decided to meet Pramoda Devi,  the wife of late Srikanta Datta Narashimaraaja Wadiyar and  the members of Mysore royal family to discuss about Dasara celebrations this year. Discussions will be held also on the issue of succesor of the late King.

Though government has no role to play in the appointment of successor to the royal throne, it wants to clear the air of suspicion surrounding the appointment and peoples curiosity to know who will succeed Srikanta Datta Narashimaraaja Wadiyar who died in December last.

District in charge minister V Srinivasaprasada said as dasara is fast approaching the people are curious to know who will succeed Srikanta Datta Wadiyar and who will preside over the dasara celebrations of the royal family. Government wants to know who is their successor and how dasara festivities should be organized by the government in the absence of Wadiyar who used to guide the government on the festivities, he said.

Meanwhile, the palace authorities including Pramoda Devi are maintaining a stoic silence on the issue of appointing a successor despite many names of Wadiyar’s cousins and nephews doing the rounds in the public circles.
