Vice-President Hamid Ansari at the centenary celebrations of University of Mysore on Friday told that universities have to play a larger, long-term and transformative role besides the role of ‘growth engines of the society’.

Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, UGC chairman Ved Prakash, Ministers H.C. Mahadevappa and Basavaraj Rayareddi, Vice-Chancellor K.S. Rangappa, and Registrar C. Basavaraju were present.
