The five-day festival of the renowned Shrine of St Lawrence in Attur- Karkala began on Sunday January 24.

People from various places arpund the state, irrespective of religion were seen offering prayers at the relic of St Lawrence, also visiting the pool at the shrine.

The street leading to the shrine was decked with a variety of stalls selling sweet savouries, food and more importantly religious items. There was also a fun fair for the visitors.
