Dharwad: Veteran Congress Leader and Former Minister S. R. More (82) passed away at a private hospital here on Thursday December 9. It is a coincidence that the day is also the deceased leader’s birthday.

He was a four-time MLA. A popular Maratha Leader, he was Minister for Cooperation and Municipal Administration in the Cabinets of Former Chief Ministers S. Bangarappa and Dharam Singh.

He was also once Dharwad District In-Charge Minister, and instrumental in taking up several important development works.
