New Delhi: In a disturbing incident, a couple hailing from Manipur, along with the man’s sister and a family friend, were allegedly attacked by a group of people in southeast Delhi’s Sunlight Colony area. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.
According to reports, the Manipur couple and their companions were assaulted by a mob of around eight to nine people. In the video footage, the attackers can be seen punching, kicking, and dragging the victims on a narrow street. The horrifying incident unfolded as the group was reportedly on their way to drop a friend home.

The trouble began when three strangers, including a woman, approached the Manipuri couple, seeking help to book a cab as their mobile battery had drained. While waiting for the ride confirmation, one of the individuals who sought assistance started verbally abusing the man and made lewd remarks about his wife and sister, escalating into a scuffle.
As tensions rose, the accused called more people to the scene, leading to a physical assault on the Manipur couple, the man’s sister, and their family friend. The attackers reportedly pulled the wife’s hair, pushed her to the ground, and attempted to drag her.
The police responded to a call from Kilokari village around 2:30 am, taking the injured man to the hospital. The victim, a resident of Jeevan Nagar in Ashram, suffered abrasions on his knees, redness and swelling in the eyes, and swelling on the left side of his forehead. Law enforcement has registered a case under relevant provisions, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the attackers using CCTV footage from the area.
