IDA-DK Branch Observes Oral Health Day at FIza by Nexus Mall

Mangaluru: Indian Dental Association Dakshina Kannada Branch observed the World Oral Health Day in association with Fiza by Nexus Mall on 24 March.

The IDA-DK Branch organised various activities in association with the Dental Colleges of the Dakshina Kannada District. The Branch Secretary Dr Hemanth Jogi welcomed the members, President Dr Aravind Bhat stressed the importance of oral health in improving general health and urged all the dentist to place a priority.

Dr Imran Pasha M, CDH incharge of the IDA DK Branch highlighted the role of World Oral Health Day and urged the dentists to highlight the link between systemic and oral health. The Chief Guest Dr Shivsharan Shetty, Vice President Indian Dental Association Head Office, spoke and stressed that we all dentists should create awareness and be a part of the change.

The Vote of thanks was delivered by the Master of Ceremonies Samiyah, Shiek Sadaf and Gotham Student Volunteers of IDA-DK Branch. The event witnessed a Flash Mob Competition and a Skit Competition by the Dental Colleges.

The First Place in skit was won by the MCODS Mangalore, 2nd place by the AJ institute of Dental Sciences and 3rd place by the Srinivas Dental College.

In the Flash Mob Competition 1st place was bagged by the Srinivas Dental College, 2nd place by the AJ institute of Dental Sciences and third place by the AB Shetty Dental College.

The Undergraduate quiz was held at the AJIDS on 23 March and Frist place was shared by the AJIDS and Yenepoya Dental College, 2nd place was shared by the MCODS, Mangalore and Srinivas Dental College and Third place was won by the AB Shetty Dental College.

The Postgraduate Quiz completion held at Srinivas Dental College on 20 March and 1st place was taken by Yenepoya Dental College, 2nd place by Srinivas Dental College and 3rd Place by MCODS Mangalore.

Awards were also distributed for the International Women’s Day Observed by the IDA –DK Branch in association with Yenepoya Dental College and NSS Unit-1, YDC.

Dr Prasanna Rao Treasurer IDA-DK Branch, Dr Shuban Alva Past president IDA State Branch and Dr Ashwini Shetty, Dr Umme Amarah were present in the program.
