Vijayapura/Hubballi: Two soldiers from northern Karnataka died in two separate incidents. While the first soldier died when he fell off from the fifth floor of a building, the other died while battling naxalites in Chattisgarh.

During an encounter with naxals, Satish Saiyannavar (31) was shot dead in the naxal inflicted area of Danthewad in Chattisgarh. The deceased had served in Kashmir for 8 years and was about to shift from Danthewada to a new location as he was transferred after serving in the naxal region for 3 years. He was supposed to arrive in Hubballi in a few days time. He was an arts graduate and had planned to get married during his visit this time. He had constructed a new house in his home town recently.

Mallappa Kallappa Poojary (33) from Karjol village in Vijayapura was working for Maratha Regiment. The deceased leaves behind his wife and two children. His body has arrived in the native village and the last rights will be performed with state honours. The reasons behind the fatal fall are not yet known.
