Norovirus outbreak in Kerala: High alert in Mysuru, Chamarajanagara Dists

Mysuru: Two border districts of the State, Mysuru and Chamarajanagara districts that share a border with Wayanad of Kerala are on a high alert following a Norovirus outbreak in the state of Kerala.

According to the authorities, the officials further streamlined the screening of passengers arriving from Wayanad in both these districts at the border checkpost.

In Mysuru District, screening intensified in Bavali checkpost beside awareness drive in the border areas of the HD Kote Taluk. Taluk Health Officer Dr. Ravi Kumar T. held meetings with all the stakeholders including ASHA workers, Anganwadi teachers, and Gram Panchayat members among others to ensure that if there are any symptoms of Norovirus among any, issue should be reported to the senior officials on a priority basis.

In Chamarajanagar District, the officials visited Mulehole checkpost on Thursday November 18 and reviewed the situation.
