Mysuru: State Election Commissioner on Monday announced that the elections to the Zilla Panchayats and Taluk Panchayats in the state will be held in the second week or third week of February.
Speaking after holding a review meeting with the deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and other officials of all districts coming under Mysuru revenue division media persons, Election Commissioner P.N. Shrinivasachari said that the elections will be held in two phases.
The Nota option will be introduced in the elections and election expenses for ZP constituencies is limited to Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 for TP, the state election commissioner said.
He added that the voters list has been updated up to December 27 and it will be published on January 11. The process of addition and deletion of the names in the list will be allowed till the last date for filing of nominations, he said.
In the review meeting poll panel discussed about the preparations for the polls. Election chief also directed officials to take necessary actions for peacefull election.
