Mysore: Dr Pushpa Amarnath hit out at errant officials who failed to do their duty and asked them to walk-out  at the maiden Karnataka Development Programme(KDP) meeting held on Wednesday at Abdul Nazir Saab auditorium in ZP premises.

The officials of various departments today faced the wrath of Zilla Panchayat (ZP) President who had failed to respond to her Oct. 1 call to submit their reports within 15 days. The ZP President asked those officials to  submit  their reports before wednesday or else to walk out of the meeting and even threatened to walk out of the meeting herself if they failed to do so.

Meanwhile, ZP CEO P.A. Gopal intervened and assured the ZP President of proper action against errant officials. Following this, issues concerning agriculture, education, drinking water, etc., were taken up for discussion.

During the meeting, she also regretted the apathy of officials working in the Chief Minister’s home district and accused the officials of not showing required concern for the development of the district. She demanded the officials maintain daily diaries on their activities and submit it to her once in a month for verification.

Complimenting the officials, who had worked hard for the successful conduct of Dasara-2014, she alleged that only two of the 20 abstaining officials of various departments had taken her permission.

Earlier, the ZP President administered oath to members on Swach Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

ZP Vice-President L. Madappa, Standing Committee Chairmen G.T. Rajanna and Javaregowda and over 50 officials of various departments were present.
