Mysuru: A security guard working at the Government PU College for Women, People’s Park, was allegedly hacked to death by miscreants on Friday night.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Venkata Rangaiah (62), resident of Gandhi Nagar. He was on the night shift when the incident took place. It is alleged that he was attacked with sharp weapons by some miscreants. The police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the murder.

DCP Shekhar along with Nazarbad police inspector, visited the spot. Sniffer dog and fingerprint squads were summoned to the spot. The college declared a holiday as a mark of respect for Rangaiah.
