Mysuru: Disillusioned by the maladministration and functioning of Madapur Gram Panchayat (GP) in H D Kote taluk limits, a woman GP member resigned on March 1, accusing GP officials and staff.

Shashikala has accused Panchayat Development Officer (PDO), Engineer Naveen and the computer operator of total non cooperation in executing National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NAREGA) works within the GP limits. The trio outsourced NAREGA works breaking stipulated guidelines, despite complaints from her end, Shashikala alleged.

She has also charged the trio of corruption by taking unilateral decisions while undertaking works sanctioned under 14th finance programme.

Despite informing all the authorities including GP President, CEOs of Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchyat of irregularities, none bothered to look into her pleas, a disillusioned Shashikala alleged.

Shashikala’s resignation has given rise to many doubts among critics over the functioning of Madapur GP.
