An urge to be loved by her parents and the desire to live with the man she loved and united in bond of marriage have been surging her equally, even after the High Court on Thursday said in clear terms that she has all the rights to live with her husband Shivaraj.

Halima Shahil, a girl from Mangaluru had fallen in love with Shivaraj and married him against the wishes of her parents. Later, fearing threats from her family, Halima and Shivaraj relocated to Mysuru. However, on December 4, 2015, Halima was abducted from Krishnamurthypuram when the couple was riding back home. The abductors had assaulted Shivaraj before taking away Halima and now it is said that disturbed by the inter-religious wedding of his daughter, Halima’s father D K S Hameed had plotted the abduction of his daughter.

Following Halima’s abduction, Shivaraj move to court and filed Habeas Corpus. The Court had directed the Mysuru Police Commissioner to produce the girl before the Court by January 11.

After forming three teams to track the girl, on Thursday, the police brought the girl before the court, which ordered that the two lovers be united.

Even though Halima spoke out in the Court and said that she wanted to live with her husband, she had, deep inside her heart wished that she could regain the love of her parents.

An evidently relieved and happy Shivaraj speaking to reporters said that he was worried for her ever since she was abducted.

“Today I am relieved. I asked her if she wants to live with me or she wants to get back to her parents. She said she wants to live with me. I will stand by her for the rest of my life,” said Shivaraj.
