Mysuru: Kannda cine star late Vishnuvardhan loved the cultural city of Mysuru and in order to fulfill one of his lifetime wishes, a memorial will come up in HD Kote area of Mysuru district, according to his wife Bharathi Vishnuvardhan.

Addressing a press meet in the city, she said she was not inclined to have the memorial in Bengaluru and has conveyed her decision to the CM and the district in-charge minister after waiting for more than six years.

A trust is already established and through its contribution and government support, a memorial will come up near HD Kote and a site for the same has been spotted, she said.

Revealing an interesting incident she said, it was late Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar who suggested the name of Sampath Kumar who later became Vishnuvardhan, to his father-in-law HN Narayana Rao, a writer that time, when he visited the palace to meet the King after his child was born.
