Mysuru: University of Mysuru (UoM) which is in news often for wrong reasons got into a fresh controversy by denying permission of auditorium for a book release on October 27.
The book titled, ABVP-Terrorism written by young writer Harohalli Ravindra was set for release on October 27 at the Ranibahadur auditorium in Manasa Gangothri premises. Accordingly, the writer had sought permission from the University authorities.
Responding to the request in writing, the university Vice Chancellor denied permission saying that it would lead to friction among student groups as the book’s contents are related to fundamental organisations/outfits.
Writer Harohalli Ravindra termed the university’s decision as assault on Individual freedom.
Noted Kannada writer Dr.Banjagere Jayaprakash, Dr. P V Mahesh Chadraguru and media advisor to chief minister Dinesh Amin Mattu were slated to take part in the book release ceremony today.
