Union Min Sonowal inspects Yoga exhibition venue in Mysuru

Mysuru: Union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday June 20 inspected the preparations made for Yoga exhibition to mark  International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2022 at Dasara Exhibition Grounds in the City.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is leading IDY on Palace premises on Tuesday June 21 will be inaugurating the two- day exhibition. The exhibition includes digital exhibition also where Mysuru and its
heritage related to Yoga will be displayed jointly by Yoga
Federation Of Mysuru and Ministry of Ayush.

The Cultural City has centuries of history and grand legacy of Yoga. Mysuru is  also known as the capital of Ashtanga Yoga. Nalwadi Krishnaraja
Wadiyar, the celebrated King of Mysuru was even the chief patron of Yoga and he brought T. Krishnamacharya, who laid a firm foundation for Yogasana in this part of the State. Later B. K. S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois and more such exponents spread yoga across the world, as is evident with the once esoteric art transcending boundaries.
