Mysuru: Health Minister U T Khader has ordered to file a criminal case against a accused doctor couple who removed the uterus of a woman, without her consent.
The complainant Nanjamma (37) from Mysuru, had gone to Sri Nidhi Clinic in the city to get treated for her persistent lower abdominal and backache problems.

The owners of the hospital, a doctor couple stated that she would have to immediately undergo an surgery, failing which she may die. They took Rs 30,000 from her, operated and removed her uterus, without her consent.

“I have already complained to all the concerned officials and also brought the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister. I need justice,” she urged U T Khader.

Minister responded on the spot and called the district health officer and asked him to file a criminal case against the accused doctor couple. He also ordered to examine their medical certificates and asked them to be suspended.

The lady has also filed a case with Consumer’s Court so as to teach a lesson to such doctors.
