Mysuru: The children of government schools were back after a holiday gap of almost two months and were greeted with chocolates and note books on their return.

Some children were happy to see their schoolmates where as the rest were reluctant to part with the ‘good times’ they had during their holidays.

The school authorities at Agrahara government school accorded a traditional welcome with a clear message to parents and children that ‘schools are not thorns but flowers ‘with a mission to draw back more children to schools. In the recent past many government schools have faced closure due to lack of adequate number of children.

Some working parents heaved a sigh of relief as schools reopened.
