Mandya: The town police arrested 3 persons including Mandya Urban development Authority (MUDA) commissioner, related to misappropriating Rs 5 crore form the bank accounts of MUDA.
The arrested has been identified as Congress leader Kebballi Anand, MUDA commissioner Dr Shivaramu, local resident Nagalingaswamy.
Earlier, it was alleged that the former bank manager was accused of transferring MUDA funds to Indian Bank. The town police proved the role of MUDA commissioner Dr Shivaramu, local Congress leader Anand and Nagaswamy in misappropriating MUDA funds.
Meanwhile, the funds transferred from MUDA account to Anands account are yet to be ascertained, amidst the pressures from Congress leaders. The town police arrested the three accused and began the probe.
COD probe recommended:
COD will probe the misappropriation of MUDA funds to the tune of Rs 5 crore that was collected from general public in order to allot housing plots, said state urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
Strict actions will be taken on the erred proven in COD probe, cautioned the minister Sorake.
