Mysuru: While any responsible elected representatives would start working on implementing the budget allocations once the budget is presented, the Nanjangudu City Municipal Council members decided to party to celebrate the presentation of budget.
Drunk and sloshed, these members were seen dancing to the latest Sandalwood numbers, forgetting the fact that there were reveling on the hard-earned money of the tax payers.
The ‘booze’ party took place at a private resort in Nanjangudu, the very own constituency of Minister for Revenue V Srinivas Prasad, after the budget was presented on Saturday.
Former President of CMC C M Shankar, Revenue Officer Venkatesh among others were seen dancing in an inebriated state.
Nanjangudu is one of the very famous pilgrim centres where thousands of people throng every month. But, this place is deprived of basic facilities like proper roads, drinking water facilities, signboards for tourists etc.
Without sparing a thought for the work that needs to be done in their constituency, the CMC members were seen rejoicing, oblivion to what was happening around them.
One may have to wait and watch if the Revenue Minister and the Chief Minister would initiate action against the CMC members or let them keep wasting the tax payers’ money on such parties.
