Mysuru: Arasu Boarding School, built by the Mysuru Royal family may be closed down soon as there are not much kids enrolling to the school.

With the parents of the existing students demanding that the school be kept functional, School Administrative Board President Queen Pramoda Devi Wodeyar has said that a decision will be taken after holding talking with Education Department.
With the government declaring that school with less than 25 students in each class will be merged with the nearest school has brought up uncertainty over the existing of Sri Chamarajendra Arasu School functional in Chamarajapuram.
However, Pramoda Devi Wodeyar said that the school provides education from Class I to X and about three years ago the total strength of the school was 249.
Last year the strength dwindled to 180 students and this year there are only 152 students. Due to this the DDPI has denied to renew the permission to run the school.
The queen is expected to hold meeting with the parents, the education department officials and school board members on Monday and arrive at a decision.
