Mysuru: A gang of unidentified men decamped with cash from a temple and mobile phones from a nearby outlet on Monday night, August 15. The thieves in the process have cut the possible leads which might have enabled the cops to trace them.

The burglars gained entry by breaking open the shutter of a mobile outlet on Akkamahadevi Road in JP Nagar area first and took away 18 mobile phones of different make and Rs 8000 in cash.

Then they broke open the Shaneshwar temple door and took away Rs 10,000 cash along with few silver items, leaving the donation box empty.

The gang carried out the robbery by first cutting the electric supply to the area, because of which the CCTV cameras placed in the mobile shop became ineffective.
