Mysuru: A school head master got washed away while riding a bike as a tank breached its bank due to heavy rains on last Friday, in Hullahalli Rampura Village of Mysuru district.

Krishnachari, the deceased was working as a headmaster in Mellahalli school.

After finishing duty, he was on his way back home. The Ahalya canal breached its bank and the water started overflowing and entered low lying areas. With no support from any corners he got washed away and his body was found at a distance.

The police and the fire personnel rushed to the spot on hearing the news of the incident, but failed to rescue the teacher who had breathed his last by the time they arrived.

A case has been registered at Hullhalli police station in Nanjangud taluk limits.
