Siddapura:The new bridge that has been laid across Cauvery River, near here gives nightmare to motorists and the bitumen has withered posing threat to the concrete below. The bridge is a vital link between Karnataka and Kerala and forms state highway which was constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
The sub-standard materials used in developing the road over the bridge has proved with sever pot-holes that emerged within a few months of commissioning of the new bridge. Twenty-four hour traffic moves over the bridge that was built with modern technology has withered on the first monsoon itself.The motorists urge the concerned department officials to undertake urgent repairs for smoother traffic as they are distressed over bumpy rides on pot-holed stretch of bridge.
