Mysuru: District in charge secretary Jayaram instructed officers to take steps to reduce the pressure on beds in hospitals. Chairing the Covid progress review meeting at ZP here on Saturday, May 8, he said that people are coming for admission in hospital for small fever symptoms.

Owing to this, the real covid patients who needed beds could not get it, he said. He said that earlier state government ordered private hospitals to reserve 50 percent beds for covid patients. Due to surge of covid cases, it has been increased to 75 percent.

He said that officials should take stringent action against those who organize meetings and functions in this pandemic. He instructed to seize the vehicles which violates norms and said that fine should be imposed for those who do not wear masks.
