Mysuru: To condemn the unceremonious exit of V Srinivas Prasad from the Cabinet, Srinivas Prasad Fans Association will stage a silent protest rally on Sunday, July 10. Over 5000 members from both Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts are expected to take part in the rally.
Former minister Srinivas Prasad
Addressing media persons at Press Club here on Saturday, J Ravi, organizing secretary of V Srinivas Prasad Fans Association, Mysuru said that though they protested against the State government’s decision to remove Srinivas Prasad from Cabinet, they did not observe any bandh as the Royal wedding of Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar was taking place in the city.
“Now, we have decided to take out silent protest rally from Town Hall to Ambedkar Bhavan. The protest rally will kick start at Town Hall at 10.30 am and pass through Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle, Exhibition ground road, Chamaraja double road, Ramaswamy circle and culminate at Buddha Vihar near RTO office,” he said.
“The government has shown disrespect to senior Congress leader Srinivas Prasad by removing him from the Cabinet without informing about the same. In his political career spanning 40 years, Prasad who even worked under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a Union Minister didn’t had any black mark. During his three year term as a district and Revenue Minister, he had taken up various developmental works and there was no allegation against him. But unfortunately during the Cabinet reshuffle he was removed from the cabinet. As a mark of protest more than 5000 supporters of Srinivas Prasad will be joining the protest rally on Sunday” added Ravi.
