Mysore: A toddler died of suspected dengue fever at the private hospital here on Sunday June 2.
A one-and-a-half-year-old baby of Prakash, a native of Kaniyanahundi village, here was admitted to Kamakshi Hospital, here for symptoms of fever, passed away on Sunday.
“The laboratory report is awaited to confirm the exact cause of death, whether its due to dengue fever,” said district health officer Dr Maale Gowda.
Seven persons are admitted at Kamakshi Hospital with symptoms of fever. Their blood samples are sent to laboratory. A few children of Kaniyanahundi village are also admitted at Cheluvamba Hospital.
There has been no decline in admitting of patients with symptoms of fever from the people in and around the city. The kids aged about 2 to 3 years – Sneha, Sampat and Suresh, residents of Huyilalu village, here are already admitted in the hospital at the city.
The children hailing from Srirangapattana, Kalyanagiri and Kenchalagoodu were admitted at Cheluvamba Hospital. Their blood samples are sent to laboratory. One-year-old Devaki, hailing from Ashokpuram is admitted to Gokulam Aditya Hospital, here. They were advised by district health officer Dr Maale Gowda to transfer them to Cheluvamba Hospital for higher treatment.
Moreover, there has been steady increase in children admitting to hospitals with symptoms of fever since a few days.
