SJEC College kicks off Jayciana-2015 with a Mini Marathon

Mysuru: In order to create awareness about the soldiers who are serving at the borders, thousands of students of Sri Jayachamarajendra Engineering College students actively participated in the ‘2k15 marathon here on Sunday.

On the occasion of the college’s annual celebrations, ‘Jayciana-2015’ the students, lecturers, non-faculty members and public from other organisations enthusiastically participated in the event.

Mysuru regional Deputy Commissioner of Police  (DCP) Vinayaka Patil, retired Inspector General of Police  (IGP) K Arkesh and many others jointly gave green signal to the event.

Speaking on the occasion DCP Vinayak Patil said, “The students of SJCE have rightly arranged the event with a meaningful theme. There is a necessity to showcase the courage and determination of the soldiers who are protecting the country from external forces.”

The run began at SJCE led towards AIISH, Bogadhi junction, Kukkarahalli circle, Sarawathipuram printing press, TTL College, Bake Point, Kukkarahalli circle and reached SJCE.

In the 7 km run for males, Rajesh won the first place. He was followed by Abhishek and Rohan Devaiah. In the women’s category Ranjitha, Apoorva and Supriya won the first three places.
