Siachen soldier Mahesh’s mortal remains reach native village

Mysuru: The mortal remains of soldier Mahesh has reach his hometown and the same was received by none other than Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself, late on Monday night.

The mortal remains was brought to Mysuru guesthouse around 11.30 pm, which was kept open for public to pay homage.

On Tuesday at about 8.30 am the body was sent to H D Kote, the hometown of Mahesh where large number of people had gathered to get his last glimpses.

Students were seen shouting slogans in praise of Mahesh.

The CM addressing the reporters reiterated that the kin of Mahesh would be given a compensation of Rs 25 lac, a site and job for one family member.

Mahesh had died in the deadly avalanche that struck Siachen glaciers early this month.

Mahesh was serving in the Indian Army since the last 12 years. He was deployed to Siachen a few months back.

He was a bachelor and had visited his family four months back.
